The East is a delicate matter. The world is currently undergoing a “turn to the South” or “turn to the East”, so an understanding of these “subtleties” is becoming increasingly necessary in various fields, from politics to business. With the galloping development of economic and political relations between the Republic of Turkey and the Russian Federation, the need to build competent dialogue with an awareness of the traditions, attitudes, mentality and habits of Turkish citizens has arisen. The article focuses on the peculiarities of cross-cultural communication. It examines both theoretical features of the way of life and thinking of the Turkish people, as well as concrete examples of communication.
